Responsibility
As a company it is our policy to assume social responsibility and to make an impact no society and culture above and beyond our normal business activities. Promoting the development of individuals is, for us, not just a matter of business, but also a matter of contributing to the community. For years we habe been especially involved with the encouragement of artistic projects and young artists.
ARD International Music Competition
The annual ARD Music Competition in Munich is one of the most important international competitions of its kind for young musicians from all over the world. For many artists who have achieved fame today, the award was a stepping stone for their career, as for example for Jessye Norman, Francisco Araiza, Mitsuko Uchida, Thomas Quasthoff, Yuri Bashmet, Christian Tetzlaff, Sharon Kam, Heinz Holliger, Peter Sadlo, Maurice André - just to name a few. Since 2006, if has been sponsoring this competition with a special finalist's award.
Kölner Philharmonie
As an active board member of the KölnMusik Kuratorium e.V. since the nineties, ifp has been ensuring that outstanding concerts can be presented to the public at affordable prices. Furthermore, we support innovative concert series and fund new works of budding composers.
Foundation Junges Literaturhaus Köln
As initial founder of the Junges Literaturhaus, ifp has been supporting the foundation since 2007, conveying contemporary literature to young people through workshops and readings. Our aim is the establishment of a long-term financial basis for this young institution.
Gürzenich Orchester Köln
Relating to the historical bond amongst Cologne citizens, in 1987 a concert association was founded to support the Gürzenich Orchester. During the nineties, ifp contributed to the foundation of a curatorship and has been an active member since. Ifp's responsibility within the curatorship includes participating in the Soloist and Talent Scholarship, as well as supporting performances and recordings of Gürzenich Orchester chamber concerts.
Masterplan CityCentre Köln
Having been a member of the association "Unternehmer für die Region Köln e.V." since 2006, ifp is a sponsor of the Masterplan Köln CityCentre. This urban planning framework aims to further develop and design of Cologne's urban space.
Music in the Houses of the City
Since 2012 ifp has been host of the annual "Music in the Houses of the City" festival by the private initative Kunstsalon e.V. Ifp has been putting its Disch-Haus premises at the festival's disposal, to promote young talents by providing them with the opportunity to perform in public.
